Are You Just a Little Black Rain Cloud?

Sorry for the late post, but my mother passed away and I have been out of pocket for the past week or so.  This said, it was a time of reflection, especially of what is important in life.  If you only encounter life and others on and off like a light switch,  it goes without saying that you do not love others like God wants you to, nor are you experiencing life as God intended.  Death indeed makes you stop and contemplate your own mortality. We do not live long upon this earth. But, it is not a time to close yourself off from the world and live life out alone.

When we can realize how much God loves us it changes the entire focus on life. Life becomes precious, eternity becomes hope and if we don’t receive God’s love for us, we’ll have a hard time loving other people and engaging what otherwise could be a very productive and abundant life. Life is about loving the unlovely, loving the difficult, loving the irritable, loving people who are different or demanding and making the world a nicer more pleasant place to live.

Love must become a lifestyle, the habit of your life. It starts with a decision to be the "salt" of the earth - knowing that God has called to you to make this planet a better place. You can't do that being a sour pus, a cloud over everything you touch. We cannot do this until you have God’s love coming through you. You need to know God’s love so it can overflow out of your life into others.

This may seem like an impossible task, and it is. That’s why we need God’s love in us, so we can then love others. John writes, "So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. (1Jn 4:16)."   Your life is worth far more than you think, and by learning to love others with the love God gives you, you will have an influence far greater than you could ever imagine. If you commit to this, you will experience life as God means it to be — filled with hope, energy, and joy. Paul wrote, "And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment,  so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ..(Php 1:9,10)."

2 Co 6:2  For he says, "In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you." Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation."
